Clergy
Leading the clergy team we have The Rector, The Reverend John Barron. The main responsibility of our clergy is to minister to the spiritual needs of the parish, including leading worship, teaching and helping people to mark major life events.
Retired Ministers
We are luckily enough to benefit from the ministry of two retired ministers who support the Rector and curate in leading services and spiritual needs of the Parish.
Readers
We also have licensed members of our congregation called Readers who teach, lead worship and help with activity groups and pastoral work. Readers can also minister at funerals and help those who are bereaved.
Authorised Pastoral Assistants
Visiting and caring for people, not just in church, but throughout the community is a central part of the life of the church. Some of our members are specially trained to carry out this work supporting the clergy as Authorised Pastoral Assistants.
Church Wardens
The Church Wardens share with the Rector the responsibility for the everyday running of St Michael’s.
Parochial Church Council
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is responsible along with The Rector for promoting the mission of the Church – pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical – as well as maintaining the church buildings.
