From this week’s news-sheet

Dear Friends,

This Sunday is a huge one for St Michael’s! We are celebrating Gilpin Sunday, honouring our very own “Apostle of the North,” Bernard Gilpin—a man who was basically the original North-East rebel for the poor!  We’re also kicking off a very special journey for our younger members as they begin to prepare for Admission to Communion.

All are Welcome.

Our 8.30 am Holy Communion Service will be led by Rev’d John Barron.
At 10.00 am our Holy Communion Service  will be led by Rev’d John Barron and our Reader, Ros Pickersgill, with Young Church discovering the Joy of the Gospels.
At 6.00 pm Rev’d Claire Cullingworth will led us in our Celtic Eucharist – A sung service of Holy Communion drawing on liturgy from the Celtic Christian Tradition.

With my prayers and best wishes,

Heavenly Father,
your Son battled with the powers of darkness,
and grew closer to you in the desert:
help us to use these days to grow in wisdom and prayer
that we may witness to your saving love
in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
