Dear Friends,
This coming Sunday, we gather to celebrate one of the most vibrant and significant days in the church calendar: The Feast of Pentecost.
Pentecost marks the beautiful moment the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, filling the Church with life, passion, and purpose. It is a time for renewal, celebration, and coming together as a community.
We invite you, your family, and your friends to join us at St Michael and All Angels, Houghton-le-Spring, for worship. We are offering three distinct services across the day:
- 8:30 am – Holy Communion: A quiet, traditional service for peaceful morning worship. Led by Rev’d Judith Howes.
- 10:00 am – Holy Communion: Our main choral service filled with community warmth and praise. Led by Rev’d Barron with preaching from Rev’d Judith Howes
- 6:00 pm – Celtic Eucharist: A sung service of Holy Communion drawing on liturgy from the Celtic Christian Tradition. Led by Rev’d Claire Cullingworth.
No matter where you are on your journey of faith, there is a place for you here. Come and celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit with us 🔥🕊️
We look forward to welcoming you this Sunday.
With my prayers and best wishes,

Holy Spirit, sent by the Father,
ignite in us your holy fire;
strengthen your children with the gift of faith,
revive your Church with the breath of love,
and renew the face of the earth,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
